In the Paseo Manuel Puigvert you can always find some beach front runner in the warm winter sun at noon or taking advantage of the freshness of the summer twilight. The beach, with its 3 kilometres, is a challenge for swimmers and few have managed to make it from end to end. At the outskirts of the city, on roads that wind through the Torretes, Mount Popa or Gulli hill is where cyclists reinforce their legs by peddling up and down. Conclusion? Calella is a sports city.
This active spirit and complete installations of the city, alongside the environment, climate and proximity to Barcelona have made us one of the stops on the circuit of the international Ironman.
Could we as Calellenses ever have imagined that someday we would connect to Hawaii? Well, we are: the Ironman Barcelona-Calella serves as a proof to world competitions that take place on the island of Kona in the Hawaiian archipelago. This is probably the most impressive physical challenge ever seen in our city. Do not miss out, go out and run!
