The Calella Film Office, a municipal service under the Tourism Department of the City Council, coordinated the filming of a Dior brand advertisement starring the Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman last September. In the ad, Portman can be seen strolling along Les Roques Beach, wearing a red dress.
The Calella Film Office (CFO) was established in 2016 to host the filming of the movie "A 100 metros", based on the true story of Ramón Arroyo, an athlete who has multiple sclerosis and is participating in the Ironman Calella-Barcelona this 2023. Since then, the CFO has attracted various productions, including the Christmas campaign for the Anna de Codorniu cava brand, scenes from the TV3 series "Com si fos ahir," the movie "Amics per sempre" by Román Parrado, a tourism promotion campaign by Turespaña, and the "Tabú" program on Canal 0 of Movistar, among others.
In 2023, Calella has hosted a total of 22 productions, with Roca Grossa Beach being the most sought-after location, followed by the lighthouse and other downtown spaces. The graph illustrates the types of productions carried out since 2016, with advertising shoots being the most recurrent.
With the slogan "Calella City-Set, a unique location," the CFO offers resources and spaces such as the lighthouse, Les Torretes (former optical telegraph towers), the Llobet-Guri factory, Les Roques Beach, or Manuel Puigvert Promenade, among others, along with the necessary resources for production companies to use Calella as a creative set.
