One more year, Calella has been present at the B-Travel Fair to position itself in the tourism market as a getaway and proximity destination.
This weekend, Calella has participated once again in the B-Travel fair, the International Tourism Exhibition of Catalonia, held at the Montjuïc exhibition center in Barcelona. The B-Travel presents a wide variety of tourism destinations all around the world and it is aimed specially at the general public. At last year’s edition, this show celebrated its 25th anniversary, with more than 30,000 visitors and 189 exhibitors from more than 40 countries.
The B-Travel also has different thematic areas such as gastronomy (B-Delicious), industrial tourism (B-Industrial) and Glamping (B-Glamping), as well as technical seminars aimed at professionals (B-Travel Pro). This show has allowed visitors come from all find tailor-made experiences for their trips.
Calella has participated for promoting its family, cultural and gastronomic tourism offer, especially aimed at the segment of local tourism. With more than 56,000 overnight stays made between May and October 2017, the Catalan market states the tenth place in the ranking of origin of tourists in Calella. Apart from these overnight stays, we must also take into account second home tourism and hikers who, despite not being included in the statistics, visit us all year round attracted by the great commercial, cultural, leisure and gastronomic offer that in Calella.
In this sense, the promotional strategy of Calella defined for this year prioritizes the attraction of proximity tourists, an important market that the Tourism Area wants to reinforce both with in-person actions at fairs such as B-Travel and with final actions aimed at the potential visitor. Thus, the City Council of Calella is collaborating with marketing campaigns such as the ‘Hello Family’ of the Generalitat de Catalunya, held this weekend throughout the territory, just to finish consolidating Calella as a destination for local tourism.
