The Costa del Maresme Tourist Promotion Consortium organized a networking event last week for a sustainable Maresme that was the prelude to the delivery of Biosphere certifications and Tourist Information Points, attended by the councilor for Economic Promotion, Commerce, Consumer affairs, and Tourism, Cindy Rando.
Calella has succeeded in having 8 companies, services, and destinations recognized with the Biosphere 2024 badge. These include the Aparthotel Miami Park; the GHT Balmes Hotel & SPLASH***; the Hotel España; the Neptuno Hotel & Spa, the Tourist Office; Garbí Beach; Les Roques Beach; and the Gran Beach. Additionally, the Consortium has also distinguished 9 companies and services as Tourist Information Points 2023 in Calella. They are the Tourism Museum, the Tourist Office, the Municipal Museum-Archive Josep M. Codina i Bagué, the Calella Tourist Association, the GHT Marítim Hotel, the GHT Balmes Hotel, the Atzavara Apartments, the Roca Grossa Camping, and the Racó d'en Pepe Hotel. In the sessions held during the event, members of the public and private sectors shared workspace, including councilors and tourism technicians to representatives of museums and entrepreneurs in accommodation, catering, and tourism services, all focused on improving sustainability in the region. The event took place at the Espai d'Arts Escèniques Casal d'Alella. The Maresme region has 100 tourist companies, public services, and certified destinations committed to Biosphere tourism sustainability and 61 Tourist Information Points that serve as promoters of the Maresme region.
